Goh Shou Yi

Movement artist and choreographer Goh Shou Yi has been actively collaborating with both Singaporean and international artists to create dance choreographies and performances. These performances have been staged in various platforms and notable festivals such as Seoul Performing Arts Festival, M1 Contact Contemporary Dance Festival, New Dance for Asia (NDA) International Dance Festival and Gothenburg Fringe Festival.

 

Goh is fascinated by the relationship between the body and society and is eager to explore it through an alternative  lens. His explorations have taken him beyond the dance discipline, and he took on the role of a collaborator in various theatre productions. Goh was the Choreographer and Movement Director in 1 Table 2 Chairs Experimental Series (2017) presented by The Theatre Practice, Singapore, Prism (2017) by Toy Factory, Exile or Pursuit 放逐与追逐 (2021) a production directed by Jalyn Han, The Year of No Return by The Necessary Stage, a festival commission for Singapore International Arts Festival (SIFA) 2021 and 0.01 a collaborative work with Theatre Maker Rei Poh (Attempts) for M1 Fringe Festival 2022 with the first batch of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Performance Making Degree Programme students.
